Paris Texas has everything you would expect a place called Paris Texas to have.  It has an eiffel tower with a cowboy hat on top.  It has a Jesus statue in a cememtary with cowboy boots on.  And it has a First United Methodist Church of Paris in it with a pastor named Kathy French.  Yes, her name is Kathy French, and she lives in Paris Texas, you can’t make this stuff up!  Well you can, but to me it’s way more funny that it is coincidental.

What a great time though with wonderful people.  The night was made fun in a town that needs it!  Every time I asked someone what they did for fun in Paris, they wouldn’t even answer, they would just shake their heads in a sad way.  I asked the same question to the girl at Subway in Paris and her answer was “Dallas” (the larger city 2 hours south).  But the people are what make Paris, Paris.  I felt so welcomed, loved, and taken care from start to finish.  Pastor Kathy French and Rev. Van were so wonderful to pray with me before the show, and work so hard to make the event a success!  With free coffee, pop-corn, soda, and a candy bar table, (no not candy-bar, a candy. bar. as in a bar where you could fill up a bag with whatever kind of candy you want.) how could this even not be awesome!?  Of all the churches in Paris Texas, (and trust me, there are a lot) this is my favorite so far.  Thanks to First United Methodist Church of Paris Texas and Larry Weaver for hookin the gig up.  I can finally say I’ve flown to Paris to perform.
